In het wervelende Moderne meisjes brengt Introdans drie 'grand old ladies' van de Amerikaanse moderne dans samen. Lucinda Childs speelt in 'Chairman Dances' volgens NRC Handelsblad "een fascinerend spel met vijftien dansers en de gelijknamige, swingende muziek van John Adams". Het behoort tot de onbetwiste hoogtepunten uit het Introdans-repertoire. Daarnaast creëert Childs speciaal voor dit programma een nieuw werk, haar eerste choreografie voor een Nederlands gezelschap.

'Bench' van Jennifer Muller is geïnspireerd op de film 'An Inconvenient Truth' van oud-presidentskandidaat Al Gore en gaat vergezeld van indrukwekkende filmbeelden. Het werk verbeeldt de ecologische vernietiging van de aarde, maar is desalniettemin van een betoverende schoonheid.

Het oeuvre van Twyla Tharp wordt gedanst door grote internationale gezelschappen. In het speelse en spitsvondige 'Junk Duet' mixt zij jazz en tapdans met klassieke ballet-pas de deux.

Lucinda Childs' Chairman Dances, set to the composition of the same name by John Adams, is one of the undisputed highlights among all the Introdans premieres in recent years. When creating this celebration of spatial dance, Childs closely followed the shifting musical motifs of the minimalist composer Adams and combined poetical moments with breathtaking virtuosity. In addition to Chairman Dances, Introdans is also dancing a new work by Childs which she has made especially for this programme - her first creation for a Dutch company!

The works of Twyla Tharp are danced by major international companies all over the world. In MODERNE MEISJES we can enjoy her playful and inventive Junk Duet taken from her work Know by Heart which she made for the prestigious American Ballet Theater. In this duet Tharp tackles the classical ballet pas de deux, adds some jazz and tap elements and has the dancers challenge each other in all kinds of ways

Bench by Jennifer Muller is inspired by the film An Inconvenient Truth by the former presidential candidate Al Gore and includes impressive film images. Muller's choreography is about guilt and grace and depicts the ecological devastation of the earth as a consequence of destructive human behaviour. It's a work of enchanting beauty that will not fail to move audiences.
