Welkom bij de eerste editie van het nieuwe festival AmsterdamDans in de Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam en Theater Bellevue. Choreografen, dansgezelschappen en dansstudenten laten zien wat Amsterdam als dansstad te bieden heeft. De voorstellingen in de Stadsschouwburg en Bellevue zijn op één avond te combineren. In de Stadsschouwburg presenteert AmsterdamDans MIXXX1 (ma 20 september) en de première van Viewture (di 21 en wo 22 september).

Viewture werpt een blik op de toekomst en biedt een podium aan choreografisch talent. Dit jaar zijn dat White Horse en Giulia Mureddu.

White Horse (Chris Leuenberger, Lea Martini en Julia Jadkowski) maakt een nieuwe versie van TRIP (winnaar van de ITs choreography Award 2007). Giulia Mureddu (o.a. Danswerkplaats Amsterdam en Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel) creëert een nieuw werk: Intermezzo.

Op ma 20 en di 21 september geven choreografen van verschillende Amsterdamse dansgezelschappen (o.a. Anouk van Dijk, Marco Gerris en Itzik Galili) masterclasses aan dansstudenten. in de foyers van de Stadsschouwburg. Tussen 18.00 en 20.30 uur kunt u (gratis) een kijkje komen nemen.

Op wo 22 september is 5 o'clock class te zien, een stuk van Krisztina de Châtel voor de jongeren van de 5 o'clock class van de Theaterschool. 5 o'clock class is te zien om 19.00 uur in de Nieuwe Foyer, voorafgaand aan de première van Viewture (enkel toegankelijk met een kaartje voor Vieuwture).

Let op: na het verschijnen van de seizoensbrochure is de première op woensdag 22 september vervroegd naar 20.00 uur

A view of the future of contemporary dance in the city

The new festival AmsterdamDance offers talented choreographers the possibility to work with fine dancers of high quality. This year the honour is bestowed upon White Horse and Giulia Mureddu.

White Horse consists of Chris Leuenberger, Lea Martini and Julia Jadkowski. They rewrote their production TRIP (ITs choreography Award 2007) for a larger group of dancers. TRIP en masse promises to be a fascinating wipe-out on the subject of fanaticism, the masses, and hysteria.

Giulia Mureddu has created new work. Intermezzo is a physical study of the desire to make contact with the other, to come closer. Even though the five dancers do their best, there is always the risk of missing each other. Mureddu worked in recent years with companies such as Danswerkplaats Amsterdam, Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel, and for the Oerol festival.

Take note: The time of the premiere on Wednesday 22 September has been brought forward to 20:00 after the release of the season brochure.
